Boat Show Returns to Philadelphia
Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks March 2 - 4, 2012
Oaks, PA - Philadelphia area boaters are in luck. The Greater Philadelphia Boat Show is returning to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, March 2 - 4, 2012. Boat shows offer a convenient way to explore options for enjoying life on the water. The Show provides the opportunity to shop and compare without the travel usually associated with visiting many dealers. It's an excellent learning experience for those who are not already boat families, but would like to know more about boating and related activities. Special show prices from most of the dealers also make this event a good shopping opportunity for those boating enthusiasts who already own a boat and are ready to trade in and move up.Types of boats offered at the show will include ski boats, high performance boats, saltwater boats, pontoons, bass boats, motor yachts, jet boats, PWCs, runabouts and deck boats. Other displays will present information on marinas, parts, accessories and boating safety. David Posner of Royal Productions, producer of the Philadelphia Boat Show at the Fort Washington Expo Center for 10 years until the facility closed in 2006 commented, "We're looking forward to seeing many boating families at the show. "The event offers the public a chance to buy at 'once-in-a-lifetime prices' due to the current economic climate."
Show hours are Friday, March 2 from Noon to 8 pm; Saturday, March 3 from 10 am to 8 pm; and Sunday March 4 from 10 am to 5 pm. Abundant free parking is available on site. As a tribute and expression of appreciation, free admission is being offered to all Police, Fire, EMS and military personnel (and one guest) in the area who are able to show a valid ID at the Show Office. Regular adult admission is $7; ages 13 to 17 are $2 and those ages 12 and under are admitted free.
The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks is 6 miles north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, near the King of Prussia Mall, in the Marketplace at Oaks, just off Route 422, Oaks Exit. Use intersection of Egypt Rd & Station Avenue in Phoenixville, PA 19460 for GPS.
The Expo Center, which opened in January 2009 features more than 200,000 square feet of exhibit space. Events scheduled at the Expo Center include home, RV, golf, motorcycle as well as gift, sport, pet and craft shows. Many amenities are nearby: eateries, hotels and shopping.
